It’s our anniversary (c) – Tony Toni Tone

Yesterday was my wedding anniversary.

Well, the first wedding (The one that the government doesn’t count, but we do.).

This morning I shuffled half asleep to the front door, picked up the paper and saw the following on the front page: Same-sex marriage may be key issue in November .

Now I get that politics is a game. It’s not that I’m surprised and I understand that it may be even necessary for each candidate to not piss their potential customers off.

What irritates me about this is the following:

*The black & white mentality that most Americans have. They’re like lawyers who will only accept a direct answer, “Are you or are you not against gay marriage, yes or no?!” Then each candidate is labeled as either homophobic or a fag hag.

*The lack of a pussy of each candidate, who I agree with the article and expect neither of them to address the situation with any real substance. The “leave it up to each state” argument or some other bullshit copout will be used, I’m sure.

I would join the closed-minded Obama shirt-wearing individuals (Yes, you’re closed-minded. You have no idea why you’re voting for him, only that it’s the cool thing to do and Ludacris and Will.i.am tells you to) if he would come out and say he’s for gay rights and then EXPLAIN EFFECTIVELY why.
I believe he has the presence to change some people’s minds.

If he did something like that, I might believe he’s really going to be about change. Otherwise, it’s the same old bullshit.
