We’ll take it…

Wow, a biggie.

Today the CA Supreme Court agreed (6-1 vote) to decide on the legality of Prop 8.

No doubt, it’s big. It’s still scary, cause if it doesn’t go our way it could be disastrous.

But, as a result of today’s ruling, the Supreme Court is going to make a decision on whether it’s constitutional to allow a majority to decide a minority group’s civil rights and if the vote limits judicial powers.

Last week I was on the way to pick up lunch for me and my coworkers when I caught an interview on the radio with John Lewis and Stuart Gaffney (individuals who currently have a case with the state Supreme Court after suing the city of SF over their right to marry) Me personally, after “not caring” about the government’s recognition to my marriage in the beginning and then becoming really passionate about Prop 8′s passing, connected when one of the men summed my feelings up perfectly when he said, “We were given a taste of freedom.” I have to say I liked my marriage being recognized equally as my parent’s marriage. I didn’t realize what I was missing.

I’ve been pretty hard on gay activitists lately, but I have to say that I’m really proud as of late. The nation-wide protests this past weekend were impressive and inspiring.

Overall, I have a good feeling about this being in the court’s hands.

On another note, I only have 6 days of my hell job left! :) .

Sucks that the economy is in the crapper and as a result I’ll be eating top ramen.

Trust me, it’s worth it.
