Tuesday Links… 6/22

2010 June 22

It’s Tuesday, which means I’ve put together a sweet group of links of cool stuff that I’ve found around the internet.  Some have to do with screenwriting and movies, and others are completely random.  Grab yourself a bag of baked Cheetos and enjoy.

* Julie Gray wrote a great post on the importance of focusing on what she refers to as “netgiving,” instead of always trying to use people with networking.

* Scott Myers explains the first of his step-by-step process of how he personally writes a script.

* Somebody awesome put together this mash up of Toy Story 3 and The Wire.

* Love this post over at Holiday Matinee, which discusses how lame believing in destiny is.

* You need to know about Allie Brosh, a writer and cartoonist that nearly makes me pee my pants on a daily basis.  Read her latest post about why she’ll never be an adult.

* Seth Godin states why that the gift card you swooped up on the way to the party is not really a gift, and explains what really giving a gift to someone consists of.

* If you’re smart, you’ll purchase the latest album from The Roots, “How I Got Over“, which came out today.

* On the other hand, if you have only $10 to spend, consider donating it to helping clean up the oil mess in the Gulf of Mexico.  Many of us responded to help those in Haiti, which is awesome.  Now, our own country needs us to step up.  Yes, BP should be drop-kicked in the gonads and should be handling this, but us pointing fingers and refusing to act won’t do anything but contribute to the destruction of our coast and the wildlife there.  Donate to United Way, the National Wildlife Foundation, or the Nature Conservatory, all of which have set up accounts strictly meant to help clean up the coast.
