It’s Your Fault Netflix

Last night my wife and I were so ecstatic that there was actually a movie we had heard of streaming on Netflix, that instead of watching the San Francisco Giants’ game, we sat down to watch a film. Every month, ten dollars go from our bank account over to Netflix, just for us to dejectedly scroll through their pitiful streaming library.

But alas! Yesterday I check their site and discover that THE LINCOLN LAWYER is available! Matthew McConaughey! William H. Macy!

We couldn’t pass it up. Afraid the one somewhat recognizable movie in their library would disappear any second, we forgo our usual routine of watching the Giants’ game.

Great freaking decision. Three-quarters of the way through the film, and deep into our conversation of how bad the movie was, I get alerted to the Giants’ score on my phone.

“Uh… We won. Ten to zero. Wait… Matt Cain. He threw a no-hitter! No. Holy crap! No walks. No errors. He threw a perfect game!”

The first ever perfect game in San Francisco Giants’ history… only the twenty-second time a perfect game has been thrown in MLB history… took place while we were lounging on the couch whining about Ryan Phillipe’s lack of facial expression.

We immediately hit pause on the movie and turned the game on in time to see Cain receive his standing ovation. We’re sorry we missed your incredible moment Matty. Congrats to you, Buster and the rest of the guys! (and AMAZING catch Mr. Gregor Blanco!)

And curse you Netflix for getting us excited about the availability of a sub-par movie!
