* I’m all over Go Into The Story’s screenplay reading program this week, which for the next 7 days is focused on Thrillers. Yesterday was Jaws. Today is Pulp Fiction. Join me and read 7 thrilling scripts this week.

* It’s no secret that the new layout on IMDB sucks. John August explains how to improve the layout to make it more user friendly.

* J. Cole released his incredible mixtape, Friday Night Lights. To snag it up, visit 2dopeboyz.

* BAFTA launched a Screenwriter’s Lecture Series, which features a series of exclusive videos of successful and talented writers, such as David Hare, Peter Morgan, Simon Beaufoy, Ronald Harwood, Christopher Hampton and Aline Brosh McKenna, sharing experiences and offering up advice.

* The amazing Adele released the first single to her upcoming album, 21, which is entitled “Rolling in the Deep.” Check out the song and studio footage in the video below.

Go Into The Story recently finished up with their “7 Days of Screenplays : Horror” reading and analyzing project, and this week they’re moving onto Romantic Comedies.

Day 1 of the Romantic Comedies program is J.F. Lawton’s script for Pretty Woman. If you sit down and focus on only reading the script, you can probably knock it out in 30 to 45 minutes.

With a brand new month upon us, let’s put some time in on improving our craft everyday. You can find the script for Pretty Woman at Go Into The Story‘s post.

Here are this week’s collection of Tuesday links, meant to inspire/motivate/teach/amuse. Hope you enjoy.

* Matt Shoard of the Guardian discusses whether writers need their own room to write something great.

* You can participate in Go Into The Story’s “7 Days of Screenplays: Horror Genre” script reading and analyzing event.

* Anyone who works in a creative field would be able to relate to this new poster from Good Fucking Design.

* Interested in the secret to finding screenwriting success? Check out a recent post from Julie Gray.

* If you’re planning on participating in next month’s NaNoWriMo, do your prep work and visit literary agent Nathan Bransford’s site, where he breaks down what you can do in the days leading up to November 1st.

Here is this week’s collection of educational/inspirational/random Tuesday Links:

* Do you listen to music when you’re writing? Established screenwriter John August does and he explains why in a recent post.

* I recently came across the incredible photography work of 13th Witness. Check him out.

* I love this video which features a 90 year old WWII veteran explaining how the power of music made an impact in the days following D-Day.

* Julie Gray updates her GASP List, which now features 177 films that an aspiring screenwriter would look like an idiot if they haven’t seen. Great, more homework.

* Coverage Ink/CS Open have revamped their newsletter format and will now be featuring their updates on their own blog. Keep up with them, here.

* Scott Myers at Go Into The Story discusses Joseph Campbell’s screenplay structural formatting tool, entitled “The Hero’s Journey.”

* Seth Godin recently discussed the danger of both self-delusion and self-loathing, which is something screenwriters may be interested in, as we tend to either be too hard on ourselves or delirious about our true abilities.

* Lastly, the trailer for Hereafter, which is the film I was able to sneak my way on set for when they were filming in the East Bay, has been released. Roger Ebert likes the film. Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon? Yes, please.

Scott Myers at Go Into The Story has started a “40 Days of Screenplays” reading program. Day one looks at Back To The Future. You can download it, read Scott’s comments on it, and share your thoughts with other readers.

Check out how Hong Kong resident Gary Chang was able to create 24 different rooms in his 330 square foot apartment.

Jeanne Bowerman writes a great post about how screenwriting is similar to martial arts.

I need one of these vapur water bottles immediately. Vapur offers a foldable, reusable water bottle that can be rolled up, folded and flattened to throw in your pocket. Yes, please.

I love this print by Pope Saint Victor. “I Should Probably” do something today.

Here are this week’s Tuesday Links. If you’re unfamiliar with my Tuesday link deal, it’s a weekly list that I compile featuring cool articles on writing, art pieces I’ve come across, or at times complete randomness I find interesting.

Without further ado…

I swear I’m not a fifty year old woman yet, but I was on the Real Simple website and found their article entitled, “9 Things You Can Do To Be Happy in the Next 30 Minutes” helpful.

The artist, Blu (not the hip-hop artist, but the painter), puts together a brand new painted animation video that is absolutely ridiculous.

The script that I’m currently developing while rewriting Super Ted is going to possibly have two main characters. Scott Myers over at Go Into The Story discusses how to effectively make this happen.

Julie Gray updated her GASP list, a collection of 100 movies any screenwriter should have seen or would risk looking like a dumbass. Over the last couple of months, I’ve used this list to try and step up my movie knowledge, so it’s exciting and yet frustrating that there are new selections on the ever-changing list.

Isaac Niemand put together a video that features Alfred Hitchcock explaining the definition of a MacGuffin.

One of Marc Johns’ latest cartoons, “We Now Have Legs“, makes me smile.

Allie Brosh’s latest hilarious write-up and cartoons on the intelligence struggles of her doggy.

Here are this week’s collection of cool links that I’ve come across over the last seven days.

* The 99% writes a post on hard work and if it’s really worth anything.

* Julie Gray put together “The Writerly Survival Tool“, with helpful links for any new or even established screenwriter.

* Screenwriter Phillip Barron has a great response to those aspiring writers who make a habit of complaining that the business isn’t fair.

* Go Into The Story explains how writing while uncomfortable can help stimulate creativity in one of their “Dumb Little Writing Tips That Work” segments.

* Speaking of Go Into The Story, we’re now up to part 5 of Scott’s “How I Write A Script” piece.

* Script Collector has put up a grip of new scripts for download lately, including Toy Story 3, Knight and Day, and Killers.

* Designer Andrew Salituri has created some really cool prints as part of his “The Infinite Good” project, which is meant to help raise awareness of positive things happening in the world after he discovered the significant decrease in Malaria cases while on his recent trip to Malawi.
